The course is designed to provide the trainees with appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes that allow them to work in the wildlife sector in both protected and non-protected areas. The course takes into account emerging challenges in wildlife conservation and management. Trainees acquire skills for various wildlife management initiatives such as community or private wildlife sanctuaries, national parks and game reserves, and wildlife ventures such as wildlife farming. Trainees also acquire general entrepreneurial, ICT and life skills to enable them to be self-reliant. The craft certificate is packaged in two modules: Wildlife Naturalist Assistant and Community Wildlife Assistant.
The aim of this course is to equip trainees with practical skills and attitudes to work in the tourism industry. The trainee will apply the acquired skills in running tourism activities. The course enables the trainees to utilize the locally available materials to exploit domestic tourism. Trainee also acquire general entrepreneurial, ICT and life skills to enable them run tour guide establishments, develop and market tourism products, and go into self-employment. The craft certificate is packaged in two modules: Touristic Field Naturalist and Tour Administration.
The aim of the course is to equip trainees with practical skills and attitudes to work in the fish industry. The trainees will apply the skills in fish farming and fish farm management. The course allows trainees to use the locally available materials and equipment to develop fish ponds. They also acquire general entrepreneurial, ICT and life skills to enable them manage fish farming establishments, develop and market fish products and enter into self-employment. The certificate in aquaculture is packaged in two modules namely: Fish Farming Assistant and Fish Farm Operations Assistant.
